Former Commander, Expeditionary Strike Group 3
Rear Admiral United States Navy (retired) Gerard Hueber is currently the Business Development Executive for Raytheon Missile Systems Naval And Area Mission Defense business unit. Rear Admiral Hueber is a 1981 graduate of the United States Naval Academy. He transitioned from the United States Navy 1 November 2013, after 32 years of service. His last US Navy assignment was as Commander, Expeditionary Strike Group 3, in San Diego California where he was chartered with the "revitalization" of US Navy/US Marine Corps at-sea Amphibious Warfare core competencies. Additionally, he worked Combined Joint Logistics Over the Shore in Asia, Maritime Pre-Positioning in the Middle East and HA/DR issues. Prior to Expeditionary Strike Group 3, Rear Admiral Hueber served as the Chief of Staff and Deputy Chief of Staff for Strategy, Resources, and Plans at US Naval Forces Europe and Africa in Naples, Italy where he was responsible for Maritime Strategy and Security, Theater Security Cooperation and International Military Partnering in Europe and Africa. Rear Admiral Hueber was awarded a Master of Arts degree in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College in Newport, R.I. He is also a graduate of the Armed Forces Staff College. Additionally, he served as a Navy Fellow completing the MIT Seminar XXI program on Foreign Politics, International Relations and the National Interest.
