Prof. Timothy Bird

Prof. Timothy Bird is currently on secondment from the Defence Studies Department (DSD) of King’s College London to the Joaan bin Jassim Joint Command and Staff College where Prof Timothy Bird is the College Dean, and lead the King’s College London academic team in Qatar. In this role Prof Timothy Bird has designed the academic elements of the Staff Course (International Relations; International Security; and Regional Studies) as well as the King’s College London Masters degree that is being offered at the College. During his time in DSD in the UK, Prof Timothy Bird has been the MA Course Director; the Director of Teaching; Director of the Maritime Intermediate Command and Staff Course; Director of the Advanced Command and Staff Course; and Subject Matter Expert for Conflict and the International System; International Security Studies; Strategic Studies; Regional Conflict Studies; and Military Operations and Doctrine. Prof Timothy Bird ‘Special Subject’ taught as part of the MA in Defence Studies at the UK Defence Academy has been part of “NATO Since 1989”. Prof Timothy Bird has also taught on the Higher Command and Staff Course and at the Royal College of Defence Studies.
